Leadership and Team

Hasan Kurt is Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Istanbul Medipol University. He is also an Affiliated Researcher and Management Committee Member at the Research Institute for Health Sciences and Technologies, Istanbul Medipol University, an Affiliated Researcher at Sabanci University Nanotechnology Research and Application Center (SUNUM), and Founder and Managing Partner of Nanosolar Plasmonics Ltd. His research focuses on nanoplasmonic biosensors, metal-insulator-metal architectures, Raman/SERS platforms, alternative plasmonic materials, and wearable and soft sensing systems.

Hasan Kurt works at the intersection of nanoplasmonics, biosensing, advanced materials, and intelligent sensing systems. His work spans nanoplasmonic biosensors, metal-insulator-metal sensing architectures, Raman and SERS platforms, titanium nitride and hafnium nitride plasmonic materials, AI-enabled sensing, and wearable biointerfaces. Through both academic and translational activities, his goal is to develop sensing technologies that combine strong physical performance with realistic pathways toward clinical, environmental, and agri-food deployment. Previously, he was a UKRI MSCA Research Fellow at Imperial College London.
